What did you wish you knew before going to your university? What made you choose this institution over all others? What are advantages and disadvantages of your institution or campus? List any advice for incoming first-year students about your university.
I wish I knew that it was so important to not procrastinate. I also wish I met more professors. Having connections to professors can be helpful when you want to look for research opportunities. I also wish I timed my schedule that was most convenient for me. I think my decision to choose this program was because I compared the upper-year courses for this program in comparison to other programs. I realized this program would be the best fit for me.

I wish I knew that there weren't a lot of on-campus events. To be honest, I liked my courses though. They were pretty interesting. I chose this program because many other schools didn't have that many courses that I would enjoy. There's also co-op. I can't really think of any other neuroscience programs with co-op
What was your favourite university experience?
I was rarely in class for the most part, so I can't really think of many "experiences". I guess I would have to choose the cultural events. There was a cultural fair that allowed us to get free food while learning about different cultures. It was also nice to see some South-Asian foods being served.
What was your least favourite university experience?
My worst experience would have to be when one of the courses I needed essentially got filled up. I would recommend students to be up early when choosing courses because they get filled up really quickly. The course was a requirement as well. I ended up having it sorted after, but it was pretty stressful.
What is the hardest part about your program and what were the steps that you took to overcome any difficulties?
The hardest part about the program is keeping track of deadlines, classes, tutorials, labs, etc. I felt like with high school, it was easier to keep track of everything because teachers would always remind you. In university, you're more independent so you don't have a lot of reminders.
If you were able to take electives, what was your favourite elective? If you were not able to take electives, what was your favourite course and why?
My favourite course was PSYA02. It was really interesting, and it was an easy mark booster.
