What did you wish you knew before going to your university? What made you choose this institution over all others? What are advantages and disadvantages of your institution or campus? List any advice for incoming first-year students about your university.
I wish I knew about the course load. At this University there is without a doubt a lot of work to do to maintain your GPA and grades.
Advantages:
- Beautiful campus
- Good Profs
- Lectures are okay
Disadvantages:
- Little support
- No school spirit
What did you wish you knew before choosing your specific program? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your program? List any advice for incoming first-year students about your program of study.
I love Accounting so I knew exactly what I was doing while choosing my program. There has never been anything that I wanted to change as my passion for this program is really high.
Advantages:
- Interesting Lectures and doesn't get boring
- Good profs teaching
No disadvantages!
What was your favourite university experience?
My best experience is definitely studying in Montreal. The places around the school are really cool and interesting to the eye and overall hanging out with friends outside of the university and in the city has definitely been the best experience.
What was your least favourite university experience?
My worst university experience as definitely being away from my close friends and family. I use to depend on my family a lot for chores and things like that, but now that I have to do it all on my own without any help or support is the worst thing.
What is the hardest part about your program and what were the steps that you took to overcome any difficulties?
There isn't anything that is really hard. Accounting is really easy at McGill and also the profs are really nice. Whenever you need help, the profs will always be willing to help you.
If you were able to take electives, what was your favourite elective? If you were not able to take electives, what was your favourite course and why?
ACCT 385 - Principles of Taxation
This course is extremely interesting as it revolves around the introduction of the Canadian tax system which I thought was really cool and fun. It is something I liked.
